I am a lifelong Wyandotte County resident and have lived in our District 31 since the year 2000. I have lived a life of service to my country and to my community. I want my country, state, and community to be a safe place where all of us can afford to live for years to come. It is important to be a good listener, understand each other whether we agree or disagree with something, and work together to shape our future.
Transparency and accountability are extremely important to all of us in this day and age. We deserve to be informed and have a voice and a vote in what is coming into, and going out of, our county. I believe in Town Halls, neighborhood meetings, newsletters and the like, but only if they are constructive and don’t digress into shouting matches or condescending vitriol.I am committed to listening to you and serving you in District 31.
During my walks throughout our community, the number one issue on everyone’s mind is taxes. We need to lower, preferably eliminate, property taxes. People are being forced out of their homes and are leaving Kansas altogether for this reason. Our taxes are sky high. If you already own your own home, you shouldn’t have to pay a property tax on it! So, how do you replace that funding? You don’t. Cities and municipalities would be forced to budget with what they get! Public safety and basic services are mandated, and they are required to fund these fully before anything else.
Carolyn Caiharr proudly serves the residents of Wyandotte County as state representative for Kansas House District 33. Carolyn Caiharr is standing strong for property tax relief, traditional family values, and fiscal responsibility in Topeka.

As a lifelong resident of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, I take great pride in calling this community my. My connection runs deep, having attended local public schools and seeing three of my children graduate from the same district. Family is everything to me; I’m a proud parent of two adoptive children and a grandparent to four wonderful kids, with another on the way! It’s a joy to care for my parents and cherish the family bonds that tie us all together.
I have a diverse background in healthcare, community, and operations, dedicated to serving others and addressing practical needs. My experience direct patient care as a caregiver and certified technician, where I honed my skills in compassionate service and patient education. Additionally, my work in community engagement and administration has strengthened my communication and problem-solving abilities. With a strong work ethic and commitment to the community, I am prepared to apply my leadership skills in public office.
Alex has made Wyandotte his home for the past decade, showing unwavering dedication to improving the community. Hailing from Chicago and a Kansan for 24 years, he understands the complexities of local governance, particularly in addressing the UG monopoly. His advocacy for tax relief has been evident in commissioner meetings, and as a member of the KCKCC Board of Trustees, he has prioritized revenue neutrality, fiscal transparency and lower mill levies. Alex is committed to fighting for the residents of House District 35, opposing tax breaks for corporations, while supporting small business development. Working for meaningful change in Wyandotte’s educational system is a high priority, calling for fiscal responsibility with educational budgets and end to the STAR bond issues plaguing our district.
I’m proud to be born and raised right here in Wyandotte County! I graduated as Valedictorian from Piper High School, then continued on to Kansas State University, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with honors—triple majoring in Finance, Management Information Systems, and Accounting—and later earned my Master of Accountancy.

Over the past 20 years, I’ve built my career in auditing, accounting, and technology. I started at Ernst & Young (EY) and went on to work for some of Kansas City’s largest corporations. My focus has always been the same: find what’s broken, fix it, and make things better than I found them. By redesigning processes and holding finances accountable, I’ve helped companies save millions — because when you run an organization efficiently, everyone benefits. That same principle is exactly what I want to bring to Topeka.
I have lived in Wyandotte County for the past 22 years. My husband, Dwayne, has lived in Wyandotte county his entire life, all 75 years.

I have been a volunteer for the Wyandotte County CERT (City Emergency Response Team) in Kansas City Kansas.

I am committed to protecting the traditional values and heritage that make Wyandotte County strong and resilient. By upholding these foundational principles—faith, family, and freedom — we ensure the safety and well-being of our neighbors. Wyandotte County and Kansas are more than just places to live; they are my home, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. I am happy to call Wyandotte County my home.
Since 2020 when I was first elected to the Kansas House of Representatives for portions of Leavenworth and Wyandotte Counties, working on legislation to protect families and children has been a priority. With thirty-one years of experience in the criminal justice system, my background gives me the insight on what is needed to create safer communities. In the 2026 session just ended, I was particularly successful in sponsoring and getting legislation passed and signed into law that targets career criminals and child abusers. Prosecutors and law officers know that targeting repeat and violent offenders is the best way to create safer communities.
